Brake hose, rear brake, 2014-2021

Won't work anywhere else.

Some folks say you should replace brake lines because they degrade over time and make the brake less effective. Personally, I've seen brake hoses work fine for multiple decades, so I'm not one to replace them as part of maintenance.

BUT! I've seen more than a few of these rear brakes overheat, usually due to misadjustment, and I've seen that heat damage the brake line itself, fusing it shut internally, such that fluid could no longer move through the line. So if your brake overheated and you can't figure out why you can't bleed the air out of the system anymore... check that the brake hose isn't blocked.
