Flexible coupling core only (Ukrainian aftermarket)
Flexible coupling core only (Ukrainian aftermarket)
SKU:72-05324-B-alt-ua
This is a Ukrainian domestic market copy of the rubber portion of the flexible coupling for Urals (and Dnepr K-750's).
I have no idea if these are good quality, great quality, or terrible quality. Definitely much better than nothing. The finish varies, as shown in the fourth image.
You will note that this is just rubber. To use this, you would have to press apart your old coupling, then press the inner and outer rings into/around this piece of rubber. If you buy it and successfully use it on your bike, let us know! At the very least you will have earned a merit badge for doing something many thousands of citizens of former SSR's have done over the past several decades.
I cannot say for sure whether this only works in the Russian aftermarket couplings, or if it might also work in a genuine IMZ-Ural coupling. It should, but I don't promise that. Haven't attempted it myself just yet.
If you're still reading and not sure you want to mess with this, I can tell you that BMW part 26110029246 is a match, and that it already has a metal core installed. Search Google for that part number or just hunt it down at Max BMW, Bob's BMW, etc. You'll still have to push your old core out of the metal band/sleeve and push the new core in. Easy with a cheap arbor press; you could probably do it using a vice, too.
Store closes October 30 at 3pm Central time through November 9th. Motorcycles, Big Bend National Park, etc. Orders placed while we're closed WILL NOT BE SHIPPED until November 10th.
