The final drive of the Ural uses a splined arrangement to drive the rear wheel, as well as the sidecar wheel on 2WD models. Eventually, the splines on the wheel wear out. (Faster if you don't regrease them occasionally.)

When they wear out, if you have a 2014 or later Ural with disc brakes, you can remove the old splined flange and install a new one like this one.

Don't forget your spare wheel -- if you have one -- probably has a lot less mileage, so you might already have a good set of splines to use. Same for the sidecar wheel if you've got a 2WD rig.

It's highly likely that the bolts holding your flange are DIN 6912, a shallow-head socket bolt. If you use a normal socket driver or Allen key, it's very easy to strip the heads of the 6911 bolts. We recommend using a 6 mm DIN 6911 tool.

By the way it is completely okay to use "normal" M8x1.25x25 Class 10.9 socket head bolts in place of the DIN 6912 bolts. There's more than enough clearance for the bolt heads in the system. (Can you use Class 12.9 bolts instead? Yes, I've seen wheels rebuild by Ural that used 12.9.)

Regardless of what bolts you install the flange with, use some "blue Loctite" (medium-strength thread locking compound) and torque the bolts to 30 Nm (22 ft-lb) as it says in your owner's manual.
