Steering head bearings (aftermarket)

Tapered roller bearing kit for your steering head bearings, 2008 and newer. Includes both bearings, along with washer/seals that I won't say will definitely fit on your Ural, but I bet they will.

We sell this brand because MSRP on the OEM bearings from Ural would be $164 for the pair, and we've used this brand for over a decade and have always had good results.

Anyway, you need new steering head bearings if, with the front wheel off the ground, you can feel a notch as you slowly sweep the steering through its center point. Over time the lower bearing's outer race develops little depressions where each roller makes contact. Eventually you get clicky, crappy steering.

Installation is not a simple task, so if you've never done steering head bearings before, you can expect a fair amount of frustration and several hours of hands-on time. (Even with a lot of experience this tends to be a 3-hour job.) Be sure to pack the rollers with waterproof grease before slipping the steering stem back into place.

Should fit every Ural from 2008 through present. Bearing dimensions are 55 x 30 x 17 (OD x ID x height).

(Older Urals will use bearings that are 51 x 34 x 12mm, same as BMW motorcycles from 1969 and earlier.)
